Axil GS Extreme 2.0 Ear Bud Review

Axil GS Extreme 2.0 Review

Protect yourself from hearing loss with these Axil GS Extreme 2.0 ear buds! In a crowded field full of hearing protection options, Axil Hearing Protection has emerged in relative short order to be a leader in the hearing protection market. Axil is a company obsessed with protecting your ears, whether at the range, if you’re working around heavy equipment all day, or need hearing aids, they have you covered with a wide array of hearing products. This family owned business has a team with over 50 years of design, retailing and manufacturing experience with the goal of providing you with the highest quality hearing protection available.

Axil GS Extreme Specs:

  1.  Compresses sounds at 85 DB or louder. Axil GS Extreme 2.0
  2. Connects with your phone, tablet or other blue tooth device to listen to your favorite music or hands free calling.
  3. These Bluetooth ear buds Recharge in just 2 hours using the provided USB chord.
  4. 6.5 premium dynamic speaker.
  5. 0hz – 40,000hz sound spectrum.

The Good:

  1. 19-30 DB NRR rating depending upon the tip you use. If you’ve ever fought tinnitus, or just hate the loud crack of a barrel, then you know a 30 NRR rating is impressive for non foam ear plugs (which are usually around 32 NRR)
  2. You can accept phone calls with the Axil GS Extreme 2.0 earbuds.
  3. Bluetooth connectivity makes for wireless ability to listen to music while protecting your hearing at the range.
  4. Battery life on these is fantastic, simply recharge for 2 hours and you get 25 hours of hearing enhancement, 8 hours of Bluetooth audio and 7 hours of combined use.
  5. Lightweight, compact and you can customize the foam tips to your liking as they come with eight different sizes.

The Bad:

1. At an MSRP of $199.99, they aren’t the cheapest ear buds on the market but we are talking about your hearing so its not something I would suggest going cheap on.

The Verdict:

As someone who has shot with subpar over ear protection when I first got into shooting and fought ringing in my ears for years, I would highly recommend purchasing high-quality hearing protection like these Axil GS 2.0 ear buds and double up with in-ear and over ear headphones if you’re shooting indoors.
